Big Fish 105 V2

$799.00 $849.00

  • Don’t let its size fool you! The Big Fish 105 offers all the same features, stability, comfort and performance as its older brother, the Big Fish 120 but in a smaller and more manageable 10 foot version. Perfect for those with limited transportation and storage options but still seeking the capacity of much larger kayaks. The new Big Fish 105 V2 now features the EZ Rider seat, offering more back and bottom coverage so you can spend more time on the water having fun or fishing.

But it's not just about comfort, it’s also about feeling confident and safe when paddling, casting and yes, even standing! All Big Fish Kayaks were developed with a focus on stability and capacity, which is made possible through an innovative cathedral tri-hull design. The cathedral tri-hull features two outer pontoons along with a central pontoon with deep channels in between offering incredible primary and secondary stability.

All that comfort and stability aside, the Big Fish is made for fishing featuring the UNI-Track accessory attachment rail system, two built in flush mounted rod holders, horizontal rod storage with rod tip protection, a sturdy reinforced standing platform, storage space along the gunwales and wide open bow and stern storage areas for easy gear access. Another key feature is the removable Sonar Pod, designed to help you install electronics such as fish finders with ease.

Other features include molded in handles, adjustable foot rests, stand up assist strap and the kayak is rudder ready for easy installation of the Beaver Tail Rudder system (sold separately). Whether you plan to fish lakes or rivers, this boat meets the demands of anglers seeking the best in stability and comfort in a smaller, more compact design.

Heavy for a 10 foot, but it works well

I was looking for a stable kayak. I have a disability and getting in and out has to be simple and safe. I looked at reviews of a number of kayaks and the BF 105 and 120 kept coming up. I took a chance and when it comes to my ingress/egress requirements I am happy. The kayak is incredibly heavy and when that is combined with the cathedral hull it makes it difficult to transport between my truck and the water. I bought a small roller stand that simply couldn’t stabilize the kayak. I replaced it with a Wilderness Systems big wheel cart that works much better (though at a very steep price). Once in the water the kayak is very stable as long as the seat is in the lowest position. Be prepared for a wet butt. I bought some wet suit pants and all is well. The middle seat position isn’t great for me as it is still a wet backside, but it forces me to put pressure on the seat back which then loosens the seat up. The top position interferes with my balance badly - but that may just reflect my disability. The kayak drifts badly as you would expect from a 10 foot - so I would suggest buying the rudder - something I now plan on doing. The kayak is also slow - but at nearly 90 pounds and with so much surface area from the hull I expected that. I am a photographer- not a kayak racer - so no issues here. I expected most of the above when I bought this (except buying a second, really pricey cart) - so I am happy. If these are acceptable trade offs for you then you will likely be as well. Have had it on the water three times now and plan on this being a regular activity for years to come.

Great Kayak

I graduated from an Ascend 10 footer to this baby. It has a higher and more comfortable seat with lots of room. Three hours can go by and you don't even know it. It's perfect for small lakes. I tend to fish water no bigger than 20 acres. If I fished big public lakes, I'd probably go with a peddle drive. The only addition I've done is an anchor trolly system, which I highly recommend. Excellent value. https://youtu.be/_gbORdM2A4c
